چکیده
Hemocompatible nanoparticles with reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging properties for titanium implant surface coatings may eliminate failure related to inflammation and bacterial invasion. Cerium (Ce) is a rare earth element, that belongs the lanthanide group. It exists in two oxidation states, Ce+3 Ce+4, which contribute antioxidant, catalytic, antibacterial, ROS-scavenging properties. The purpose of present study was synthesize ceria evaluate their hemocompatibility ROS synthesis Ce-NPs performed via sol-gel method, five different ratios cerium precursors gelatin were evaluated. Their characterization achieved through FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM. Hemocompatibility analysis evaluated at concentrations human erythrocytes. morphology size distribution certified by TEM cubic CeO2 fluorite structure identified selected area electron diffraction high-resolution particle lowest Ce concentration presented mean diameter 10 nm. At <500 μg/mL, no hemolytic effect observed. highest concentrations, behavior recorded samples precursor, also (10–50% reduction ROS). These make those NPs unique candidates as nanofillers or nanocoatings antibacterial

CeO2 nanoparticles (NPs) have shown promising approaches as therapeutic agents in biology and medical sciences. The physicochemical properties of CeO2-NPs, such as size, agglomeration status in liquid, and surface charge, play important roles in the ultimate interactions of the NP with target cells. Recently, CeO2-NPs have been synthesized through several bio-directed methods applying natural a...
متن کاملCerium and yttrium oxide nanoparticles are neuroprotective.
The responses of cells exposed to nanoparticles have been studied with regard to toxicity, but very little attention has been paid to the possibility that some types of particles can protect cells from various forms of lethal stress. It is shown here that nanoparticles composed of cerium oxide or yttrium oxide protect nerve cells from oxidative stress and that the neuroprotection is independent...
متن کاملSynthesis and Characterization of Cerium Oxide Nanoparticles using Curvularia lunata and Their Antibacterial properties
In the present work, we have investigated synthesis of cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeO2 NPs) using Curvularia lunata culture filtrate. The synthesized CeO2 NPs were characterized by TG/DTA, XRD, Raman, PL, FTIR, UV-visible spectroscopy and TEM analyses. The synthesized nanoparticles retained the cubic structure, which was confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies. UV-visible spectrum exhibited a w...
